BMW has officially started serial production of its new electric vehicle model 2022 BMW i4 in Munich, Germany. Just a reminder that around 200 million euros were invested in the preparation of production in that factory.
2022 BMW i4 EV Specs
It should be reminded here that the BMW i4 is based on the CLAR platform and has 80 kWh lithium-ion batteries. BMW states that up to 80% of the capacity on the fast charger will be able to be charged in 31 minutes.
The car is 4785 mm long, the trunk volume is 470 liters, while the coefficient of air resistance is 0.24.
Two versions will be offered at the start, namely the BMW i4 eDrive40 with one electric motor and rear-wheel drive, as well as the BMW i4 M50 with two electric motors and xDrive drive.
BMW i4 battery range
The BMW i4 eDrive40 has 250 kW / 340hp and 430 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds, can reach el. limited 190 km / h and with a single battery charge exceeds 590 km or 367 miles (per WLTP).
On the other hand, the more powerful BMW i4 M50 has a total of 400 kW / 544hp and 795 Nm, reaches 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds, can reach 225 km / h and has a range of 510 km or 316 miles.
Interior
The package also includes rear air suspension, a new DSC system, launch control, rear camera, parking assist, ambient interior lighting, as well as a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel paired with a 14.9-inch central infotainment screen.
Exterior
The BMW i4 M50 also comes with M Sport equipment (sportier front bumper, refined rear bumper with diffuser, boot spoiler), black front “kidneys”, black mirrors and glass frames, 19-inch wheels, M Sport brakes, adaptive shock absorbers, el . adjustable memory seats, and there’s also BMW Driving Assistant semi-autonomous technology and a head-up display.
2022 BMW i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50 Price
The BMW i4 eDrive40 in Germany costs around 49,000 euros or price in USD $56,400 while the BMW i4 M50 there is priced at 58,000 euros or price in USD $66,900.
BMW i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50 Release Date
Release date for a new i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50 in dealers by the end of the first quarter of 2022.
