Mercedes’ largest electric sedan received an AMG version.
The 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 debuted at the Munich Motor Show with two electric motors with a maximum power of 761 hp.
In April, the German car manufacturer unveiled its luxury electric road cruiser, the EQS model, as an alternative to the conventional S-Class with SUS propulsion.
Half a year later, the previously announced extreme, AMG version arrives, bearing the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic + label.
2023 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 Range, Specs
The car is powered by two electric motors that deliver a total of 658 hp (484 kW) and 950 Nm in the standard version.
If the customer opts for the optional Dynamic Plus package, as much as 761 KA (560 kW) and 1,020 Nm are available in Race Start mode.
In the standard variant, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 reaches 100 km / h from standby in 3.8 s, and in Dynamic Plus in 3.4 s.
Top speed is electronically limited to 220 km / h in the standard option or 250 km / h with the Dynamic Plus package.
Electric power is stored in a 400-volt lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 107.8 kWh, which, according to the WLTP standard, provides a range of 526-580 km, which is significantly less than the 770 km of autonomy offered by the regular Mercedes EQS.
Mercedes’ interior has a big triple-display ‘Hyperscreen’ infotainment system.
However, even this autonomy is not to be underestimated, considering that it is a car weighing 2,655 kg.
2023 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 Price
The price of the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic + model will be known ahead of the start of sales announced for 2022.
As a reminder, the regular EQS in Germany costs around 110,000 euros, so it will not be a surprise that the AMG version, with various additional options, reaches the amount of 200,000 euros.
2023 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 Release Date
The new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 is expected to go on sale in late 2022.
