Huawei has launched a new foldable smartphone in China. Huawei P50 Pocket is the latest smartphone in the category of folding phones. Unlike the Mate X-Series, the P50 Pocket has a flip mechanism, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. It has a Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. Although the device has top specifications, it lacks support for the 5G network. The phone is currently available in China. There is no word on launching the device in other markets. Huawei P50 Pocket presented today in China at a price of €1245 or around $1410.. this variant offers 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. There is also a premium Gold Edition with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage at a price of €1,520 or around $1720. The phone also comes in black and diamond white.

The P50 Pocket has a 6.9-inch folding screen with a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels and a camera cutout with a hole in the upper center. The screen has support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a width to height ratio of 21: 9. It also has a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz and offers up to 10.7 billion colors.
On the outside there is a small 1 inch screen, which is useful enough to check notifications, dates, times, etc.
Under the hood, the phone has a Snapdragon 888 SoC with 4G network support. The phone has up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory. It has a 4000 mAh battery with 40W fast charging support.
The foldable phone has a triple camera on the back with a 40MP primary camera sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. It also has a 32MP ultra spectrum sensor. When folded, the device measures 15.2 mm thick and weighs 190 grams. When unfolded, the phone is 7.2 mm. It doesn’t have Google Mobile Service and instead runs Huawei’s HarmonyOS out of the box.
