MDX runs on direct inject SOHC 24-valve 3.5 liter V-6 i-VTEC gas-based engine that raises 290 horsepower @ 6200 rpm and a torque of 267 lb.-ft. @ 4500 rpm. It has been integrated with Variable Cylinder Management. It will be offered with either FWD or SH-FWD system. The drive wheels get power through 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission.
Mileage given with FWD system is 20/28 mpg and 18/27 mpg with SH-FWD for city/highway.
