Google has only recently begun to provide information on what’s new in its monthly system updates Google Play after years of simply introducing new versions without mentioning their changes.
The support page published changes from December 2021 and January 2022, with the latter improving time zone management and adding support for new changes to daylight saving time in several countries. The company has updated the page again to reflect the improvements brought by the latest updates to Play Services and Play Store.
The changes include the ability to manually add sign-in credentials for websites and apps to Google Password Manager, an improved way to sign in to Android TV using an Android phone, and a new Discovery on supported Android devices to highlight changes in major OS updates. Below are all the changes that are part of the January 2022 update for the Play Store and Play Services, reports Android police.
All of the above changes are part of Google Play Services v22.02.03 and Play Store v28.8, which first began appearing on Android last week.
