There will be a lot of work for Maserati in 2022, as the focus will be on the new MC20 supermodel and the future Grecale SUV, but a return to the traditional GT segment is certainly very important.
Although the vehicle is completely camouflaged, it is clear that the new GranTurismo will not fundamentally change its shape. The proportions and large four-seater cabin remain, as does the low-mounted grille in front of the refrigerator. Changes have been made to the details, such as the new upright headlights based on the MC20, and the rear light groups have been thinned.
Major changes will follow under the bodywork, where the old atmospheric 4.7-liter V8 engine will be replaced by a new Nettuno V6 engine. This three-liter two-turbo engine was taken directly from Formula 1, of course with some mechanical adjustments.
Maserati has not yet released data on power and performance, but it is known that this engine in the MC20 produces 630HP and 730Nm. It is to be expected that these numbers will be mitigated for the new GranTurismo.
As of this moment we don’t have a price for a New 2022 Maserati GranTurismo. Release date should be in the summer 2022.
