The game Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has been revealed

The asymmetric multiplayer game Ghostbusters has been announced, which comes from the developers of the unfortunate games Friday the 13th and Predator: The Hunting Grounds.

The Ghostbusters game, which was rumored last fall, has been officially announced. It is called Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed and asymmetric is the multiplayer title format 4 against 1. In the game, a team of four players will chase one ghost, which is also controlled by one player.

The game will be played from a first person perspective, and will give players weapons and tools from the Ghostbusters movies themselves. Those who play with ghosts will have several different species at their disposal, all of which have the power to see hunters through walls.

Unlike other games of this type, in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed there will be no dying. Ghosts will be able to temporarily stop and disable hunters, but they cannot defeat them permanently. Instead, their goal will be to make as much of a mess on the map before the hunters capture them.

That kind of approach doesn’t even sound bad, but we still need to be careful because the game comes from the creators of Predator: Hunting Grounds, one of the worst multiplayer games we’ve played in the last few years.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has been announced for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X, and should go on sale in late 2022. It will support cross-platform multiplayer among all platforms, and in case there are not enough players gathered for the match, bots, ie AI comrades or opponents, will jump in.
