New Ferrari 296 Gran Turismo Spider presented

Ferrari introduced the first supermodel with a V6 engine in June 2021, and now the roofless variant is arriving – the 296 Gran Turismo Spider (GTS). The convertible looks a lot like a sister coupe when its roof is raised.

It takes 14 seconds to assemble or raise the roof, and the operation can be performed when the vehicle is moving at a speed of up to 45 km / h. Thanks to the window in the rear segment, you can still see the powerful three-liter V6 engine of 670HP.

With the help of an additional electric generator, the total power rises to 830 HP and 740 Nm of maximum torque. Acceleration from 0-100km / h of this plug-in hybrid model takes 2.9 seconds, and 200km / h is achieved in 7.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 330km / h, and when only electricity is used 135km / h.

Since it is a convertible with a hard folding roof, weight gain due to structural strengthening was inevitable. The 296 GTS weighs 1540kg without working fluids, which is 70kg more than the coupe.

As in the case of the sister coupe, in electric mode it is possible to cover 25 km thanks to the energy from the battery with a capacity of 7.5 kWh. The convertible with a centrally located engine uses the same eight-speed automatic transmission with two clutches, which is also used in the SF90 Stradale, Roma and Portofino models.

In addition to this convertible, Ferrari is also planning the premiere of the Purosangue SUV for 2022.
