Volvo has officially started mass production of its new electric model 2022 Volvo C40 Rechargeat the Ghent plant in Belgium.
The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge EV could be briefly described as a crossover-coupe SUV version of the electric XC40. The premiere of this model earlier this year coincided with Volvo’s announcement that by 2030 it will switch to the production of only electric vehicles.
Based on the CMA mechanical platform, the Volvo C40 Recharge 2022 is the first Volvo made to use exclusively an electric motor as a propulsion system.
The only electric model so far was the XC40 Recharge, but it was first constructed as a vehicle with a SUS engine, and an electric version followed later.
In addition, the C40 Recharge is the first coupe-crossover SUV offer from the Volvo brand.
Exterior
The front part resembles the aforementioned XC40, but from the “B” pillar the roofline gradually descends towards the rear end, providing a recognizable coupe silhouette.
Interior
The interior of C40 Recharge will also be 100% free of leather,

The drive system consists of two electric motors – one at the front and the other at the rear, which provide a total combined power of 408 hp (300 kW), while the maximum torque is 660 Nm.
C40 Recharge Range
Electricity is stored in a 78 kWh battery, which provides a driving autonomy of about 210 miles or 420 km (according to the WLTP test cycle).
Volvo states that the battery can be recharged on a fast charger up to 80 of its capacity in about 40 minutes.

Production of this model has officially started, so we are waiting to see it “in action” sometime in 2022.
