The Chinese company Hon Hai Technology Group, also known as Foxconn, is engaged in the production of electronic devices, the most famous of which is the iPhone. They have now introduced three electric vehicles from their own development plants
Foxconn, the Chinese company best known for assembling iPhones for Apple, develops and assembles a number of other devices for many global manufacturers. At their “Hon Hai Tech Day” this week, they showed for the first time that they are capable of developing and producing cars and buses. They presented prototypes of their own, fully self-developed, vehicles under the Foxconn brand.
Foxconn Model E Specs
The first of these is the Model E, a family and business sedan designed by the cult Italian studio Pininfarina. This car can also serve as a mobile office, and its smart technologies include environmental monitoring, automatic door opening associated with face recognition, and “smart windows”. In terms of propulsion, the Model E is equipped with 750 hp electric motors that accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. Reportedly, its range with one battery charge is as much as 750 kilometers.
Foxconn Model E Price
The expected price for the Model E is less than $40,000.
Foxconn Model C Specs
The compact Foxconn Model C is the entry-level model from this manufacturer, and it is a small city SUV optimized for a comfortable and efficient ride. Although it is only 4.64 meters long, it can accommodate up to 7 people, and its air resistance coefficient is only 0.27. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h should be about 3.8 seconds and a range of 700 kilometers.
Model C Price Release Date
Foxconn Model C electric SUV that will be available by 2023. It’s expected to cost around $36,000.
Foxconn Model T
And finally, something completely different. The Foxconn Model T is a city electric bus with a range of about 400 kilometers. Its top speed is 120 km / h, and through as many as a thousand hours of testing and 200,000 kilometers in test runs, it has already proven its robustness and endurance in conditions of constant stopping and moving.
Foxconn reportedly does not plan to release these vehicles (other than buses) under its own name, but has used the concepts and prototypes to demonstrate its development and production capabilities. In addition, it is unlikely that in addition to Ford, they could launch vehicles named Model E and Model T. But the Chinese corporation plans to position itself as a significant player in the development and production of electric cars for other companies, perhaps even in the future and – Apple.
