Ruth (Molly Windsor) is an 18-year-old girl who arrived in the middle of the night at a seaside resort somewhere in Cornwall, in the very south of England. During the season, Tom (Joseph Quinn), her first boyfriend, with whom she has been in a relationship for three years, works there, and until now she has not been able to visit him there. However, now she is finally of age and has arrived at that almost empty resort made up of caravans in the off-season, sometime in the late fall or early winter, I think, to realize that her boyfriend is acting strangely. The first warning sign is that he is not really hot for sex even though they have not seen each other for a long time, and when she realizes that the older, attractive and mysterious Jade (Stefanie Martini) is working at the resort, Ruth will become convinced that she is the reason for Tom’s strange behavior and lack of interest.

However, by the end, this not overly successful combination of psychological drama and thriller will unfold in a somewhat unexpected direction. Admittedly, not so unexpected because more or less we all know very well how those first love relationships end when someone is 15 or 18 years old and although at those moments they may think that’s it, it usually turns out that it’s not quite like that. Feature film debutante Claire Oakley must be praised for avoiding falling into some sugary melodrama, and young Windsor is up to the task, and she will experience a kind of fast-paced growing up, maturing and getting to know herself. The idea here was actually not bad, but in the realization it was a bit lacking for a slightly higher rating, especially in the second half of the film when everything was somehow unnecessarily rushed and complicated.
