The German company Daimler, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, announced that it plans to invest more than 40 billion euros or 47 billion USD in the development of electric vehicles from 2022 so that by 2030 it will be ready for the market of fully electric cars.
The company plans to open eight battery factories, a key part of electric models.
This is a sign that the automotive sector is rapidly abandoning traditional fuel as environmental regulations are tightened.

Daimler stated that by 2025, all new models will be only with electric drive, but did not announce when it plans to stop the production of cars with classic internal combustion engines.
By the way, Daimler plans to list the truck manufacturing company Daimler Trucks this year, which has become an independent member of the concern.
