Last year, Opel transformed one of its most famous models from the past into an electric vehicle with a retro look. Now, the German brand has confirmed that the electric Manta will reach the market by 2025.
Opel says in a statement that the next generation Insignia will also be a fully electric car. Not much is known about the serial Manta for now, except that the manufacturer states that it is a new “interpretation” of this sports model that will be multifunctional and will have a zero-emission drive.

“The new Opel Manta will once again be a very emotional car, with electric power that ensures first-class acceleration. Our Manta will once again be synonymous with pure driving pleasure. “We will make a fascinating, impressively spacious new interpretation,” said Opel CEO Uwe Hochgeschurz.
According to last year’s reports, the new Manta will have the shape of a coupe with a high ground clearance and will have four doors. It will use Stellantis’ new STLA platform for mid-size C and D segment models.
Opel confirms in a short statement that the new generations of the Insignia and Crossland will be electric vehicles.
