Honda announces new 2023 HR-V

Honda has released the first official image announcing the new generation of the HR-V model. The second generation will undergo a complete redesign and will have smoother lines. According to the announcements, the variants for the American and European markets will have certain stylistic differences.

This will still be the initial Honda SUV, which means that it will be below the CR-V in the catalog. The model is expected to continue to have all-wheel drive as an option, making it different from most other compact crossovers on the market.

The current model has been on sale for more than seven years. Although it experienced a refresh in the middle of the production century, it still began to lag behind the competition in terms of technology and design.

The published image announces darker rear light groups and softer lines. It is also known that the HR-V will lose the hidden rear door handles and that this element returns to its usual place on the metal part of the door.

The cabin has not been shown yet, but significant technological modernization is expected with the installation of a new multimedia system and the use of soft plastic, following the example of the treatment experienced by the new Civic.

The Honda HR-V was one of the first compact crossovers on the market, followed by the Toyota C-HR and Corolla Cross, the Hyundai Kona, the Mazda CX-30, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and the like.
