New Apple 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops, equipped with a modern new M1 Pro or M1 Max chips, debuted on October 18th. The laptops were immediately available for pre-order, and those who ordered their copy should receive their new laptop by October 26, as planned. But if you were hoping to make a purchase when laptops are more available, you will wait at least until November or December, depending on the desired configuration.

As of Oct. 24, the two available purchase options for the 14-inch MacBook Pro at Apple’s store show a delivery date between Nov. 16 and 23. The three available options for the 16-inch laptop ship between November 23 and December 1. If you choose to configure storage options on a laptop of any size, delivery dates can be moved until December 23rd. Although Apple does not offer an explanation for the months-long wait, it could be due to ongoing problems in the supply chain.

Apple’s latest Intel laptop dropped to low inventory just before the latest series of M1 MacBooks, which could point to supply problems even before launch. However, Apple was also able to reduce Intel’s stock in preparation for the launch of the M1. Whether it’s low supply or simply extremely high demand – or perhaps a combination of the two, along with other factors such as worldwide delivery problems – it will be difficult to find the latest MacBooks for at least some time. As he advises Mashable, if you are trying to give yourself a copy by the New Year, it is recommended that you order it as soon as possible or risk new delays.
