After a nearly two-and-a-half-year pause due to a couple of injuries, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson is back on the floor.
Klay Thompson, one of the best shooters today, and he finally returned to the NBA floor after a 31-month break.
After missing two seasons in a row due to tearing of the knee ligaments, and then the Achilles tendon, Thompson played against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, January 9th.
Exactly 941 days since the last match, before the long break due to injuries.
The “warrior” star suffered the first injury in the final series in 2019 with the Toronto Raptors, and then the second most serious injury in sports at one training session – the Achilles tendon.
The three-time champion with the Warriors returned against the Cavaliers, and Draymond Green respected him by jumping for the ball and coming out immediately because he was suffering from an injury.
The audience in the arena welcomed him with great joy.
Already in the first NBA play since his return, he was able to score a basket.
Klay Thompson game stats vs Cavs
Klay Thompson has 17 points in his first game since injury when Warriors beat Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. Klay was 7 of 18 from the field and 3 of 8 from 3-point range. He added 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 20 minutes of playing time. That is pretty impressive I should add.
