MotoGP: Francesco Quartararo is the world champion

Fabio Quartararo is the world champion in motorcycling! Thanks to the unfortunate departure of Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia from the track, Quartararo won the first Moto GP title in his career.

Francesco Bagnaia was four and a half laps away from winning in Emilia Romagna MotoGP at Misano, and a chance to fight with Quartararo for the title in the last two races of the season.

Bagnaia did a great job on Saturday in the qualifiers, and on Sunday he had a good start and a constant run that kept him in first place despite all the attacks of Marc Marquez who broke into second place after Jack Miller got off the track after only a few laps. And so on until five laps until the end when he flew off the track and thus handed the crown over to Quartararo.

The winner of the race in the end was Honda driver Marc Marquez, Pol Espargaro was second, while Enea Bastianini comes in the third place in the last lap, creating himself practically out of nowhere in front of Quartararo. Quartararo finished in fourth place. Johann Zarco was fifth, followed by Alex Rins, Aleix Espargaro, Maverick Vinales, Luca Marini and Valentino Rossi.

Rossi’s farewell in Italy and throwing a helmet

Valentino Rossi said goodbye to the Italian audience in Misano, and one lucky person will take a valuable souvenir from this race, Rossi’s helmet.

Motto 2: Sam Lowes recorded his third victory of the season in Misano

The winner of the Reggio Emilia Grand Prix in Misano on the “Marco Simoncelli” track in the Moto 2 class is Sam Lowes.

Sam Lowes recorded his third victory this season, did everything that was needed in Misan and in the end found himself on the highest step on the podium.

Aaron Kane made a mistake in the last corner and that opened the door for August Fernandez, who took second place in Misano. It even seems that it may not have been Kane’s mistake as much as he had a problem, because in the very finish he waved his hand and showed frustration. It turned out that he ran out of fuel. In the end, despite the penalty he had, Fernandez managed to get the most out of this race. On 11 laps until the end, Ralph Fernandez flew off the leading position from the track. Although the incident looked frightening, Fernandez passed without injuries.

Similar to the Moto 2 class race which opened the racing day on the track “Marco Simoncelli”, we saw many falls and mistakes.

The VR46 team had special engines for Valentino Rossi’s last race on Italian soil. Celestino Vietti was in fourth place, Jorge Navarro was fifth while the top ten were completed by Stefano Manzi, Remy Gardner, Fabio di Giannantonio, Ai Ogura and Marcos Ramirez.

Motto 3: Foggia rules Italy, in Misano ahead of Masia and Acosta

The winner of the Moto 3 race for the Grand Prix of Reggio Emilia is Dennis Foggia.

In a great last round, Dennis Foggia resisted all the attacks of Jaume Masia and kept the first place. Foggia has celebrated in all three races in Italy this season, this is his fifth victory of the season. To make everything even more spectacular, he came to the triumph from the 14th starting position! Pedro Acosta remains first in the championship race with 234 points, Foggia follows him with 213 and the fight for the title of world champion is still open.

In fourth place in the end was Darryn Binder, followed by Stefano Nepa, Niccolo Antonelli, Romano Fenati, Ayumu Sasaki, Xavier Artigas and Filip Salac.

The whole race ended in one lap. Foggia had one small mistake that Masia failed to take advantage of and finished in second place while Pedro Acosta was third who had a fantastic race and came to the podium from the fifth starting position. Lots of falls, lots of mistakes, but as always an exciting race in the Moto 3 class. In short, that is what we saw in Misano at the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna on the track “Marco Simoncelli”.
