According to earlier information, BMW will start selling the new X8 next year (the project is codenamed G09), and according to some announcements, it will be a sportier, bolder stylized version of the seven-seater X7.
This suggests that the X8 will also have three rows of seats, perhaps in a six-seat configuration, but this has not been confirmed.

The car will use the platform and mechanics of the X7 model, and in the engine range we can expect six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with mild-hybrid technology, plug-in hybrid and 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 523HP for the X8 M50i version.
The X8 should have two 12.3-inch displays inside, along with a state-of-the-art iDrive infotainment system.
However, what attracts special attention is the information about the sporty X8 M model, whose appearance can be expected during the model year 2022 or 2023.
The X8 M also includes a more aggressive aero body kit, M alu wheels, sports suspension and brakes, a new exhaust system, as well as a refined interior with sports seats and steering wheel.
Some rumors also say that the X8 M will have a plug-in hybrid propulsion system with a total of 750HP (4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and electric motor), all-wheel drive, as well as CO2 emissions of less than 100 grams per km.
