Maserati has released the first official images of the MC20 in a convertible version. The manufacturer describes the vehicle shown as an “early prototype”. The car wears a special camouflage with a cloud pattern, which suggests openness to the sky.
Up to the A-pillar the convertible is identical to the coupe, and the differences start from the roof line towards the rear end. The pictures do not reveal too many details, but it seems that the transparent bonnet has been replaced by a roof storage element.
New 2023 Maserati MC20 convertible specs
All indications are that the MC20 convertible will use a Nettuno three-liter V6 dual-turbo engine, just like the coupe. The engine has two spark plugs per cylinder and an attic for combustion, modeled on the solution from Formula 1. This unit delivers 630HP and 729Nm, and the eight-speed automatic transmission transmits power to the rear wheels.
The coupe accelerates to 100km / h in 2.9 seconds and top speed is 323km / h. Due to the installation of the roof mechanism, the convertible will certainly be heavier, and therefore slower.
2023 Maserati MC20 convertible release. date
According to Maserati’s production plan from 2020, the MC20 convertible, which according to the announcements will have the Spider addition in its name, will arrive on the market at the end of 2022. According to this plan, an electric variant is planned for next year, but details have not been provided.
Maserati MC20 2023 convertible cost
Pricing for the new Maserati MC20 convertible in the U.S. market hasn’t been officially announced yet but is expected to start at around $220,000 and up. Maserati MC20 coupe MSRP is $210,000.
