Porsche has introduced the Macan T SUV, a lighter, agility-oriented variant. The letter T is a sign for “touring”, and orders are accepted from spring. The name has historical roots, as the 911 T was introduced in 1968, and Porsche also used this designation for the modern 911 and 718.
The Macan T is positioned between the base Macan and the sporty Macan S. It is equipped with a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Maximum power is 263HP and 400Nm, the transmission is seven-speed automatic with two clutches, and power is transmitted to all wheels.
The Sport Chrono package comes with a steering wheel selector. Declared acceleration from standstill to 100km / h is 5.8 seconds and top speed is 230km / h.
Porsche states that the front end with the engine is 58 kg lighter compared to the Macan S and Macan GTS, which have a V6 engine, and that this is why the Macan T creates a feeling of greater agility. Adaptive shock absorbers are included in the standard package to further improve handling. Porsche has also performed an additional calibration of the traction system, and the system is tuned to send more power to the rear wheels.
The list of options includes air suspension, and it comes with stiffer anti-roll bars. The list also includes the System for vector distribution of torque, with which the internal point in the curve is braked.
Standard design elements are 20-inch wheels and gray details on the body. The cabin has adjustable sports seats at the front and a sports steering wheel, and the door panels have black aluminum with the inscription Macan T.
