Lexus has scheduled the premiere of the RZ electric crossover for April 20, which was first announced in August 2020. The Japanese company previously released official images of the new model.
The new image shows the appearance of the front end, with the mask closed in the central segment, and openings exist in the lower section and on the sides. The light groups are thin and sharp, and above them is the front body cover with prominent lines. There are also side recesses that start from the fenders.
The electric 2023 Lexus is coming to market in the RZ 450e specification and it will be the only one for now. The RZ is Lexus’ first battery-powered model, designed to “become the new benchmark in the premium segment when it comes to driving”. If we ignore the marketing language, it can be recognized that this is a more expensive and luxurious version of the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solter.
For now, there is no information about the drive of the new crossover, but it is known that the sister models of Toyota and Subaru rely on the 217HP electric system. The dual-electric configuration could be tuned for more power on the Lexus model. The estimated autonomy with a charged battery is about 350 km, and the energy will be provided by a battery with a capacity of 71.4 kWh.
