Concept cars usually announce design and technical innovations planned for the near or distant future, but this is not the case with Hyndai’s Heritage series and the introduced Grandeur electric concept.
The car in a distinctly retro style was made, according to a statement from Hyundai, on the occasion of marking the anniversary of the main sedan of this brand from the mid-eighties. The concept combines the retro look of the body with modern technology, including electric drive and pixelated LED lights.
The Interio is upholstered in leather and velvet combined with a large touch screen instead of buttons and switches, but an ashtray and hidden storage space for valuables have been retained. The designers incorporated the 4way4 sound system developed by South Korean sound designer Guk-il Yu that controls the 18-speakers. The audio system delivers rich sound with magnificent clarity and deep bass thanks in part to the composition of Grandeur’s center console and dashboard, which are designed based on concert hall acoustic theory.
Price and release date for a new Hyundai Grandeur retro electric vehicle is not known at this moment.
Earlier this year, another concept from the same series was shown – the Pony, a smaller car with three doors, which could be compared to Honda’s serial model E.
By all accounts, both of these concepts are just opportunities for Hyundai to show their creativity and are not an announcement of production models.
