A jury of 61 members choosing the “European Car of the Year” car also selected the new PEUGEOT 308 as one of the 7 finalists from the 39 candidates offered.
This is the fifth time in the past nine years that any of the Peugeot models have entered the finals. The new 308, which features the brand’s new logo, impresses with its sharp lines and attractive design, advanced technology and efficiency. It has been offering two plug-in hybrid drives since its launch, giving customers a choice between an internal combustion engine or an electric motor, and will soon have a fully electric version.
There are no categories, no subcategories, no classes: there is only one winner in the race for the car of the year, and the winner of the title “Car Of The Year 2022” will be announced on February 28 in Geneva.
With the new 308, Peugeot enters the circle of finalists for the title “European Car of the Year” for the fifth time since 2013. At the end of 2019, 208 (winner for 2020), at the end of 2018 508 (sedan and SW), at the end of 2016 Peugeot 3008 (winner for 2017) and at the end of 2013 the previous generation of vehicles 308 (sedan and SW, winner for 2014).
“Car of the Year” is the most popular award in the automotive industry. The jury that decides on it consists of 61 members from 23 European countries. In the first round of voting, each member selected its seven finalists from among 39 candidates from the starting list.
