Samsung’s CES 2022 the announcements are in full swing. The company has already unveiled its new TVs, monitors and Gaming Hub, and more is expected. In addition to announcing new TVs, Samsung also unveiled new ones remote control For TV which comes with a new charging trick.
Last year, Samsung introduced a remote control for Eco TV that worked on solar charging. Samsung TVs from 2022 now come with a remote control for a TV that is not only charged with solar energy, but can also charge the energy emitted by your Wi-Fi router. As The Verge notes, the new 2022 Eco Remote comes with RF collection capabilities that allow the remote control to conserve charge by “collecting router radio waves and converting them into energy”. Remote controls can also be charged via the USB C port. Remote controls for 2022 will also be available in white to complement the “lifestyle” of TVs such as The Frame, Serif and Sero.
It took Samsung nine years to make something useful from a patent that is almost a decade old. This is another Samsung contribution to the replace a need of of AAA batteries in the remote control. When Samsung first announced the Eco Remote, the company said it could avoid discarding 99 million batteries in seven years, and now the company has added another way to charge the remote – Wi-Fi signals.
