A new developer and publisher of video games, named New Tales, has appeared on the gaming scene. They deserve special attention primarily because the team consists of many former employees of Ubisoft, Sege, Sierra, LucasArts, Blizzard and Activision.
The studio is located in Paris, and the first plans are to create new games and IPs with games, as well as to provide publishing services to other, more independent developers through “honest partnerships”. The founders of New Tales have worked on popular games such as Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Crash Bandicoot, Diablo, EverQuest, Half-Life, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Star Wars: Jedi Knight, Sonic the Hedgehog and World of Warcraft. the list of games is diverse, both by genre and by style, so it will certainly be interesting to see their first projects.

“We have formed a team of passionate gamers with a lot of experience, who have worked on some of the biggest IPs and with a large number of gaming communities.”, said New Tales President Cedric Marechal and stressed that this is probably the most exciting period in the gaming industry, with a large number of innovative and creative titles. He stressed that his company will be a great help to many developers for whom they will offer various solutions for publishing their games in order to “maximize success”. So far, all this means little, but it is certainly an interesting project and a change in the gaming industry that may or may not have been prompted by various acquisitions of these development teams from larger studios (eg Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision), but perhaps the reasons lie elsewhere.
In any case, we in the editorial office are looking forward to new games, although New Tales is still in its infancy.
