Without any surprises, we already knew what to expect from the numerous rumors and information in the weeks that led to this event. The Vivo X Fold has a 6.53-inch external AMOLED display and an 8.03-inch (1800 x 2200 px) LTPO3 internal AMOLED E5 display. Both run up to 120Hz and are ready for HDR10 +, and the main one can slow down all day to 1Hz. The flip screen uses SCHOTT UTG (ultra thin glass, Schott produces Samsung’s UTG).
The screen has Display Mate’s A + recommendation. There are two on-screen fingerprint scanners on vivo X Fold. Both are ultrasonic scanners, not optical. The hinge allows the vivo X Fold to be folded without gaps between the two parts, as well as to remain open at an angle between 60 and 120 degrees.
The vivo X Fold runs Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip with 12 GB RAM, and the 4,600 mAh battery can be charged quickly. You get 66W via cable, which recharges the battery in 37 minutes. The Vivo X Fold can also wirelessly charge up to 50W and simultaneously wirelessly charge another device at 10W. The cameras are of top quality, especially compared to Samsung Galaxy folding devices.
There’s a 50MP f / 1.8 main camera with OIS in front of a 1 / 1.57-inch Samsung GN5 sensor, a 12MP f / 2.4 2x (47mm) zoom camera, a 5x periscope zoom camera (with 60x digital zoom) and a 48MP f / 2.2 114-degree ultra-wide . The Zeiss brand on the camera module further indicates that the company has invested a lot of vivo in this segment. Zeiss modes include Texture Portrait, Motion Capture 3.0, Zeiss Super Night Scene, Zeiss Nature Color and more. The X Fold has two selfie cameras – one inside and the other outside, reports GSM Arena.
Vivo X Fold will initially be exclusive to China. It is available in black, blue and gray and costs CNY 8,999, which is around € 1,300.
