Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has a signature move called, the Sombor Shuffle. A lot of NBA commentators mistakenly call it Dirk Nowitzki’s one-legged, fadeaway jump shot, but it is NOT! It’s called the Sombor Shuffle invented by Nuggets star Nikola Jokic by “accident”. The difference is Dirk Nowitzki jumps off the left leg and Nikola Jokic off the right leg.

Why is it called the Sombor Shuffle?
The Sombor Shuffle is half step-back, half fadeaway, one-legged jump shot. The Sombor Shuffle meaning is taken from his home town Sombor in Serbia where he grove up playing street basketball. Due to a left ankle injury, Jokic had to find other ways to get his shot off, he tried a one-legged jump off his right foot, surprisingly shots were pouring in and he thought I can use this sometimes. That is the history behind the Sombor Shuffle.

This shot is a lot more complicated than it looks but Jokic somehow manages it to look soo easy and smooth with a high-arching trajectory. Literally nearly unblockable shot according to Golden State Warriors Draymond Green. And Jokic can hit it even from beyond the three-point line. I think Jokic must be in the most unguardable player conversation, so far nobody can stop him.
Can’t wait for the NBA MVP 2021 announcement on the 8th of June, when the NBA is gonna announce that Nikola Jokic is the NBA MVP 2021 award winner!
