When it comes to flagship Android tablets, it is already known that there are not many options available. Samsung is almost the only brand that keeps this segment alive, especially with its own tablets Tab S series. The year-old Galaxy Tab S7 line includes some of the best premium Android tablets in the world, and Samsung is just getting ready to update it with the upcoming series Galaxy Tab S8. With the specs and photos that have recently appeared, we already knew a lot about tablets, but a lot of new information from Winfuture it leaves almost nothing with which Samsung could surprise us.
The Korean technology giant will launch three tablets in the Galaxy Tab S8 line: S8, S8 + and S8 Ultra. The Galaxy Tab S8 will be the smallest of them, with an 11-inch LTPS TFT screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It will also get a smaller 8,000 mAh battery due to its small size, of course.
Next in line is the Galaxy Tab S8 +, located in the middle with its 12.7-inch Super AMOLED panel, 120Hz refresh rate and 2800 x 1752 screen resolution. The battery on the Tab S8 + is naturally slightly larger with a 10,090 mAh cell.
The biggest of all is the S8 Ultra, which has an amazing 14.6-inch Super AMOLED screen – it even has a notch in the camera. The screen has a resolution of 2960 x 1848 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Inside is an 11,200 mAh battery; the greatest of all.
Each model in the Galaxy S8 line shares many similarities. All three tablets are expected to run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset paired with an Adreno 730 GPU. In terms of software, the Galaxy Tab S8 trio runs Android 11 with Samsung’s One UI 4.1. On the back of these tablets is a dual-camera setting with a 13 MP primary sensor and a 6 MP ultra-wide one. On the front, the Tab S8 will have a 12 MP selfie camera, while the Tab S8 + and Tab S8 Ultra will have dual 12 + 12 MP front cameras. The displays are protected by five-year-old Gorilla Glass 5.
Taking into account multimedia entertainment, Samsung will provide quadruple stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos. Support for the Samsung DeX and S Pen are also on the list, something you get with most Samsung tablets. Connectivity options include USB-C port, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and optional 5G. Face and fingerprint unlocking methods will also be available to users
The Galaxy Tab S8 and S8 + will be available in two variants: 8 + 128GB and 8 + 256GB, while the S8 Ultra will have more memory options, including 8 or 16GB of RAM and 128 or 512GB of internal memory. The memory on each is additionally expandable via a microSD card.
