Samsung Tests Moving the Address Bar to the bottom of the Browser

iOS 15 has brought some fundamental changes to Safari. The most notable change was the new unified address bar at the bottom of the screen. Now Samsung followed their example and moved the address bar of its browser application to the bottom.
On the Samsung Internet Browser Beta available in the Galaxy Store (version 16.0.2.15), a new look has been added where the address bar has been moved to the bottom of the screen for easy one-handed access.

This layout can be enabled by navigating to Settings> Layout and Menu> Address Bar Location. Here, users can choose between the classic web layout and the new layout with a unified address bar at the bottom of the screen. When the latter is selected, the address bar appears above the navigation bar, tab manager, and share buttons.

It’s important to note that Chrome for Android has had this feature for years, although it must be enabled from hidden settings. Also, Apple has allowed users to switch to the conventional Safari user interface on iOS 15 after the withdrawal to completely remove the option, writes iPhone Hacks. However, a new look with the address bar at the bottom is enabled by default.
Samsung’s timing for the implementation of this function immediately after Apple is a bit strange, considering that it has existed as an idea for years.

We believe that the beta function should reach a stable version very soon. Its advantage is that it eliminates the need to use two hands to retrieve the address bar on ever longer smartphones.
