Netflix has released the official trailer for “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, a new, ninth installment of the long-running horror franchise, which serves as a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original.
Starring Sarah Yarkin, Elsie Fisher, Mark Burnham, Jacob Latimore and Moe Dunford, the film follows a group of young potential entrepreneurs as they travel to Harlow, Texas, a ghost town to be remodeled, only to discover the home of a chainsaw psychopath.
Irish actress Olwen Fouere (from the movie “Manny” and the upcoming “The Northman”) got the role of Sally Hardesty, the lone survivor of the original massacre. After many decades, Sally seems ready to face Leatherface once again.
Written by horror film directors Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues (creators of “Don’t Breathe” and the 2013 remake of “Evil Dead”), the Netflix film was directed by Texas-born director David Blue Garcia who previously debuted with Texas-Mexico 2018 .border thriller “Tejano”.

Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher) and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson) head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to embark on a new idealistic business venture. But their dream soon turns into a nightmare when you accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, a deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area’s residents – including Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouere), the only survivor of his infamous 1973 massacre.
