The first official teaser trailer for Amazon’s long-awaited original series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has been released.
Set thousands of years before JRR Tolkien’s classic fantasy novels The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, this small screen adaptation is largely based on Tolkien’s contributions, which provided a backdrop to the history and cultures of Middle-earth.
The streaming series, executive produced by showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay, features Elven Warrior Galadriel (played here by Welsh actress Morfydd Clark, from “His Dark Materials”), semi-elven statesman Elrondo (played by English actor Robert Aramayo, from “Game of Thrones” as the young Eddard Stark), and the future human king Isildur (played by English actor Maxim Baldry, from “Year and Year”).
Other cast members include Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Markella Kavenagh, Sophia Nomvete, Charlie Vickers and many others.
Renowned Spanish-born director JA Bayona (the famous “The Impossible”, “A Monster Calls” and “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”) directed the first two episodes of the eight-episode series.

The plot of the series in short
The upcoming Amazon Studios series brings to the screens for the first time heroic legends about the legendary Second Age of Middle-earth history.
