2022 Wey Coffee 01 SUV plug-in hybrid wants to take a piece of the car market from brands like Mercedes or BMW.
The Chinese car company Great Wall is not unknown in the Old Continent, and the United States but so far it has not had much success in the European market with its low-budget vehicles.
However, at the Munich Motor Show, it presented itself with the new, premium Wey brand and the Wey Coffee 01 SUV.

It is a plug-in hybrid whose target group is buyers of luxury cars of the big German trio. According to the Chinese company, Wey Coffee One 2022 will first be offered in Germany, and then in another of the large European markets, such as Italy or Spain and in near future United States.

The 2022 Wey Coffee 01 is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol engine and two electric motors with a total power of 467 “horsepower” (355 kW).
The transmission is 9-speed with a double-clutch, and the car arrives at 0-100 km / h in less than 5 seconds.
Since it is a “plug-in” hybrid, the manufacturer claims that the SUV can cover up to 150 km exclusively on electric drive, which means that practically all city driving could be done on electricity. iI has a 41.8-kilowatt-hour battery.
With a length of 4.87 m, the Wey Coffee 01 is between models such as the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Mercedes GLC, on the one hand, and the BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Mercedes GLE, on the other.

As Automotive News has announced, the Coffee 01 may not be the final commercial name of the production model when this luxury SUV arrives in showrooms.
The company chose it because it is recognizable around the world.
By the way, the Wey brand is a relatively new car brand that has been operating in China for the last five years and has sold over 400,000 vehicles in that country so far.
